Drawings (2015)

In his 2015 solo exhibition, Drawings (Charles H. Scott Gallery, Vancouver), a collection of over 1500 of Kennedy's notes, drawings and doodles, begun during his tenure as the president of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, are displayed from floor to celling throughout the gallery. Made between the late 1970s and late 1980s, these sketches and plans for future art works, installations and exhibitions—some realized and some which never manifest beyond the page—are placed alongside meeting agenda notes and letters to faculty spotted with doodles and marginalia documenting Kennedy's restless hands and institutional daydreaming.

Drawings 1, 2, 3, published by Art Metropole, Emily Carr University Press, and Publication Studio Vancouver, compiles this ephemera as a three volume book series which was released in tandem with this exhibition.
