TWO NEW WARS (2006)
For Two New Wars (2006) Kennedy painted the walls of Emerson Gallery (Berlin, Germany) with the stripes of military service medal ribbons from the United States, around the top of the arch, and of Great Britain, on the inside of the arch. Taking special interest in the medal's advertisement design, Kennedy commissioned a sign painter to paint NEW! which was positioned to parallel the placement in the promotional material for the ribbons.
NEW! is an edition of 8 canvases done in two sizes (12"x16" and 6"x8").
